Being in control is the most important part of training

To be able to do more than one is the best way of going to the gym to start.

And you can easily get into a situation where you're thinking about your body, how you look and how your clothes fit because you're stressed about the way your body looks or the way the muscles are in the wrong place, rather than about what your body's supposed to do.

You've probably had that situation at some point in your life, where you've been told you're fat, a size, a size 10, a size 12 and you're in this situation; you're thinking 'I've got to get into shape, I can't let this happen'. In order to achieve that you have to stop thinking about yourself and start thinking about how you can help your body to achieve more. So, the first step in getting into shape is to stop thinking about the 'What I want to become' and start thinking about the 'How I can become'.

When I started training I used to think about my goal of becoming a professional bodybuilder. A personal trainer told me I looked too old and I didn't have very aggressive shoulders, so I decided that working on my shoulders and getting a bit more definition would help with my overall body-type. Then, I started thinking about my goal as being a professional bodybuilder and that's when it hit me: I don't want to become a bodybuilder! I want to become a jump roper!
